The 7-9 inch fruit can be used green as a spicy alternative to sweet peppers or allowed to turn brown and dry. In Mexico, the dried fruit are ground into a powder used for Mole sauce. This pasilla type pepper matures in about 85 days and is resistant to Tobamo.
