Jumbo size, disease resistance and productivity make Ixtapa X3R a nearly perfect jalapeno, appropriately named after the nearly perfect vacation destination- Ixtapa Mexico. Ixtapa X3R hybrid pepper is not for the faint of heart, under standard conditions it averages 5000 scoville units. The large fruit mature from green to red, taper to a point, and are thick walled. The disease package includes bacterial spot, race 1-2, and potato virus Y, strain 0. Ixtapa X3R is great chopped fresh into salsa, or cut into rings for nachos. For a sizzling appetizer, cut the fruit in half length-wise, remove the stem and seeds, and fill with jack cheese. Put the sides of the peppers back together, secure with a toothpick, and broil 3-5 minutes Be sure to serve with a cold drink!.
